I downloaded MC from the official website. When I try to launch Launcher Installer, it opens with the message "Making things incredible" and the progress bar won't move. I tried closing it and trying to open it again. I've also tried closing it and opening it. I'm trying to download the Java edition to see if it helps.
A lot of users haven't been able to solve issues with the new launcher which was launched on Nov. 2.
Assuming that you own the game and are not on GamePass download and install the Windows 7/8 launcher. Minecraft Towny Servers what they're calling the launcher we've been using for a long time. (Link)
If you wish to avoid the upgrade nag, right click the launcher shortcut from the past and set compatibility to Windows 8 on the Compatibility tab.
You are a lifesaver! I downloaded it but it would not install. Similar issue to the guy who posted this. It worked!
PS- scroll down the link and you'll see an an option which says launcher for windows 7/8 and download is from there. I'm dumb, I repeatedly downloaded windows 10/11 and again.
